Both rounds of the Ladies Club Championship took place in exceptionally high temperatures and challenging course conditions. Two medal round scores on Tuesday 10 July and Sunday 15 July were combined to test the players. On Tuesday five competitors played below their handicap and on Sunday two did, an excellent effort in the conditions.
The Ladies Club Champion and winner of the Deacon Salver is Suzanne Pretty, the runner up is Tina Rumming and the best net in the division is Beth Johnson. The Fleet Vase winner is Anna Brocklehurst, runner up is Jackie Haines (by one point on the back nine on Sunday from Gilly Higgins) and the best net prize goes to Sylvia Armson.
Hayley Smith wins the Brunton Cup, Sue Overton is runner up and the best net prize goes to Madeline Ellis.
Congratulations to all and thanks to supporters and caddies, the catering staff for a delicious tea of sandwiches and strawberry cream scones and Rob Pretty as official photographer. It all made a special day for the ladies.
