As the only shotgun in the ladies calendar, this comp always generates a great atmosphere prior to tee off. Conditions were excellent if a little humid; there was very little wind and although the fairways remain dry, the greens were receptive.
The winner, with a creditable 42 points was Rachel Miller who has won the trophy for three consecutive years. Runner up was Anna Brocklehurst with a strong 38 points followed by Anne Kilby who had a solid round and amassed a praiseworthy 37 points. Beaten on the back nine, Pat Mountford also on 37 points, continued her good run of form to take 4th place. Finally, Kerry Variava capitalised on last week's great win to take 5th place with 35 points.
Well done to the nearest the pin winners: Anna Brocklehurst on the 1st, Rachel Miller on the 5th, Angie Lane on the 15th. Margot Lawrence took the prize for nearest the pin in two on the 14th.
Ladies Captain Jenny Chambers ensured the whole day was a huge success; from the on-course refreshment (choc ices delivered to players via a decked out ice-cream "buggy"), to the perfect post-round lunch and finally, thanks to Paul, Matt and team, the day was rounded off with a superb meal.
On behalf of the Ladies Captain, thanks to everyone who made the day a great one.
