Juniors Match Update 2018
Juniors v Kirby Muxloe
Unfortunately the Juniors lost 3 -1 away at Kirby. Captain Oli Devonport was the only winner. They are still in a reasonably strong position to win our division with 3 wins from 4 but it's no longer in their hands. They need to win the division to qualify for the county finals which would give them the opportunity to be county champions for a third year in a row.!
Juniors v The Leicestershire Sunday 29 July 2018
Longcliffe Juniors beat The Leicestershire Juniors by 2.5 - 1.5 at Longcliffe. Wins for both Will Adamek and Captain Oli Devonport were then followed by a half point from 10 year old Ethan Zhang on his debut which secured the win. The team now have 3 wins from 3 matches and a victory in their final division game away against Kirby Muxloe on Monday 6th August will guarantee a place in the County Finals.
Juniors v Beedles Lake Sunday 10 June 2018
In their second match in defence of their County Junior League title our Juniors had a convincing 3 - 1 win at home against Beedles Lake Juniors. A special mention goes to 10 year old Charlie Roulston who stepped in at the last minute and provided the vital win to clinch victory!!
Juniors v Rothley (away) Wednesday 30 May 2018
Congratulations to our Junior team who started the defence of their County Junior League title by winning 4 - 0 away at Rothley Park today. Well done Will Adamek, Chris Mee, Jamie Keogh and our Junior Captain Oli Devonport.
Juniors Competition Update 2018
Junior Stableford Sunday 5 May 2018
The Juniors had their first competition of the year on a glorious Sunday. Congratulations go to Jake Croshaw, who returned a score of 36 points, which included two birdies, to win from Jamie Keogh in second place with 33 and Chris Mee in third with 29.
Success for the Juniors!!
Congratulations go to Jake Croshaw, Chris Mee, Will Adamek and Oliver Devonport for winning the County Junior League finals on Sunday at Market Harborough. They are only the second club ever to defend their title in the history of the event by beating both Glen Gorse and Kirby Muxloe. They will now go on to represent Leicestershire and Rutland again in the National Finals at Woodhall Spa next year.
England Junior Champion Club Tournament
Longcliffe Juniors, Will Adamek, Jake Coshaw and Chris Mee, represented Leicestershire in the England’s Junior Champion Club tournament played on the Hotchkin Course at Woodhall Spa. They found the course challenging, and although they did not win the tournament, they thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to play one of England's premier golf courses.
They have already won their Junior League this year and progress to the county finals, so we hope they make it to the tournament again next year, where the experience they have gained may prove decisive. Well done lads!!
