Longcliffe v Hinckley Wednesday 7 September 2016
The final combined match of the season resulted in a fine 4 - 2 victory for Longcliffe with Les Mitchell, partnered with Club Captain Dave Wilkinson, playing well below his handicap, to return an excellent 4 and 3 win.  Jon Odoms and Dave Hagger also secured a 4 and 3 win and a special mention goes to Ian Russell who  managed a 1 up win without a partner!  An excellent meal and few drinks afterwards rounded of a pleasant late summer's evening.

Longcliffe v Lingdale Thursday 18 August 2016
The Combined Team delivered a good result against  Lingdale at home winning 3½ - 2½.  Andy De Wet fired two birdies in the last four holes playing with Les Mitchell to win 3 and 1.  Ian Russell and Kevin Stanley, who has won all of his matches this year,  won 2 and 1.  A magnificent effort from Lew Elverstone and Blake Francis saw them win 4 and 3.  Thanks go to Lew, Andy Wilkinson and Arthur Plater for filling in and enabling us to get a team of twelve out.

Longcliffe v Rushcliffe Wednesday 27 July 2016
Rushcliffe members enjoyed the course but claimed their rough was as challenging as ours, however honours emerged even with a final match score of 3 - 3.  Three matches were very close and credit goes to Dave Wilkinson and Kevin Stanley, Dave Hagger and Paul Bennet, Jon Odams and Dave Lewis who all secured 3 and 2 victories.

Longcliffe v Willesley Park (away) Thursday 21 July 2016
How the tables turned.  After winning 6 - 0 against Erewash, twenty four hours later Longcliffe suffered a 6 - 0 defeat at Willesley as home advantage proved crucial once again.  Captain Dave Wilkinson and Andy De Wet suffered the closest defeat on the last green losing by one to the Willesly Captain playing with their professional.  Thanks go to Graham Johnson who made up the team after a last minute withdrawal.

In hot and sticky conditions all of the matches were close and competitive, but home advantage was an assett with Longcliffe winning with an emphatic match result of  6 - 0.  Special mentions go to Andy Wilkinson and Blake Francis, Bill Nicholson, who partnered Andy De Wet, and Les Mitchell, who carried Dave Lewis.

Longcliffe v Rothley Wednesday 8 June 2016
On a glorious evening for golf and the course in good nick....despite the long grass in some areas.... in a close  hard fought match Rothley took the honours 3 1/2 - 2 1/2.  Star performers for Longcliffe were Kevin Stanley and Dave Hagger and Paul Bennett and Bill Nicholson both winning 2 and 1 .  Bruce Wheeler, for the visitors, holed his second shot for an eagle on 18 to gain an honourable half against Kevin Sharma and Dave Lewis to seal the match.

Longcliffe v Charnwood (away) Tuesday 24 May 2016
The combined team played at Charnwood in a hard fought match which finished in a 3 1/2 - 2 1/2 victory to Charnwood.  Dave Vosper and Andy De Wet and Dave Gould with Kevin Stanley were the winning pairs for Longcliffe.  Andy De Wet presented Charnwood Vice Captain, Jim Riley, the match trophy -  the bottle of wine recovered from the remains of Charnwood's clubhouse after it was destroyed by fire.

Longcliffe v Burton (away) Tuesday 26 April 2016
Despite the atrocious weather - wind, rain, snow sunshine, hail, thunder, lightening - Andy Wilkinson and Les Mitchell led the team to a 3 - 2 victory with a 5 and 3 win at Burton.  The pairing of Don Marshall and Dave Hagger and their opponents were too close to the clubhouse when the bad weather hit and decided to shelter from storm and agreed an honourable half in the bar....!.
