Prospective Members’ Information

Longcliffe has long been considered one of the county’s most prestigious courses and it is not surprising, therefore, that there is a waiting list for new seven-day members.

However, there are immediate vacancies for five-day applicants, and those willing to take five-day membership pending full vacancies. The Club Administrator will be happy to advise the current waiting list situation.

The Club particularly welcomes applications from the 21-30 age group, juniors and ladies. See a page from Longcliffe Ladies. The joining fee is phased for new members under 30 years of age, as shown in the table below, and juniors enjoy a very advantageous subscription rate.

The Club has a full sex equality policy, although the Ladies’ Section has its own committee and competitions
and runs an excellent fixture list of matches with Clubs in Leicestershire and neighbouring counties.

The Seniors’ Section has a membership of almost 100, while the Mixed Section is the fastest-growing in the Club and the heart of the social programme.

All three of the Sections above enjoy a rich fixture list of matches with other Clubs in Leicestershire and  neighbouring counties, enabling all members of the Club to widen their golfing experience and participate in agreeable post-match fellowship.

A special feature of regular golfing at Longcliffe are the mens’ draws on most Wednesdays and Saturdays, when any member may arrive and be assured of a game, with an unofficial competition. These are very sociable  events, and members of all handicaps are welcome.

Clubhouse Manager Paul runs a comprehensive series of social events (see separate page) and social members are very welcome.
