County Mixed Foursomes Baxter Trophy Longcliffe Golf Club Sunday 1 October 2017
Congratulations go Sarah Haslum and Steve Critchley who returned the best gross score of 75 in the qualifying round of the 2017 Baxter Trophy which was played at Longcliffe.  Despite the dire weather warnings earlier in the week, the rain mostly stayed away although it was very damp underfoot which made playing conditions difficult.  They go on to play in the semi finals, and hopefully the final, on Sunday 15 October at Longcliffe.

Seniors v Ruddington Thursday 5 October 2017
It started off pretty windy, however the final match of the season was eventually played in calm conditions with plenty of sun.  We had to make some late replacements but managed to field a full team.  The Ruddington team enjoyed the course, with many playing it for the first time.  It was a close result with Longcliffe  winning  4.5  to 3.5.  A  good result for the last match of the season!!  As always the meal was much appreciated.  Many thanks go to Paul and his staff for the excellent food and service throughout the season.
Seasons Results:  Played  21  Won 8  Lost  11  Drew 2.  It ends a reasonable season with just one home match lost and one away win at Erewash.
The Seniors End of Season and  AGM is on Friday 13 October when the new Seniors Captain and Vice Captain will be confirmed.

Ladies St Johns Cup - Tuesday 3 October 2017
Following on from an excellent first round win in the Baxter trophy with Steve Critchley, Sarah Haslum continues her great form to win with a superb 41 points.  Next best, and runner up, was Rachel Miller on 34 points making Sarah's win - on a windy day with slow greens -all the more impressive.  A great end to the competitive season!

October Course Report is now on Members Notice Board in members only area of website.

Pro Am County Foursomes Final Hinckley Golf Club Sunday 8 October 2017

David Mee and Steve Critchley (Longcliffe A) trailed Ed Martin and Jon Siddons  (Longcliffe B) by one at the end of the first round, but a birdie on the first gave them the momentum and they ran out winners, 7 up with 5 to play, in a keenly fought match.  Congratulations go to both Longcliffe pairs for a fantastic achievement.

The first Mixed Fun Event of the winter will be held on SUNDAY OCTOBER 22nd.

This will be a joint event alongside the annual Mixed Team End of Season Event and Prize Giving for all Mixed Competitions held throughout 2017.  The format of the event will be a Texas Scramble, with randomly drawn teams, as has been held in the past.  Please enter on the sheet and teams and start times will be e-mailed out prior to the day.

At the meal afterwards we also intend holding a short ‘brainstorming’ sessions to get members thoughts and ideas for how to continue developing and moving forward the Mixed Section of Longcliffe Golf Club.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Sunday 22nd October.  If you have any queries please e-mail Andy de Wet on andrew_de_wet@hotmail.com
