Club Champion 2017 - Jon Siddons!!
Congratulations go to Jon Siddons who returned a fine two round score of level par 144 to win this year's Club Championship, holding off the challenge from Tom Adamek and Harry Coe on the closing holes with +3 scores of 147.
On day one conditions were made tricky by the swirling wind, but with the course in excellent condition Martin Downing set the pace on the front nine with Wayne Bown, however, it was Tom Adamek who came in as overnight leader with an impressive one under par score of 71, with Harry Coe and Jon Siddons close behind with level par 72. The best nett scores went to Wayne Bown 65 (75 - 10), Tom Adamek 67 (71 - 4) and brother Will 67 (75 - 8).
Sunday's round was played in brighter conditions, although the later starters were caught as a heavy rain storm rolled across the course. The spectators were treated to a thrilling finish as Jon parred 16 to take a one shot lead down 17 and then made an excellent birdie on 18 to seal victory. Best combined nett for both days went to Will Adamek, with a total of nett 136 67(75 - 8) + 69(76 - 7). David Hull returned a nett score 70 (76-6). The Howlett Trophy for best Senior was won by Keith Hough on 156.
Thanks go to all who helped to make the weekend such a success.
