Longcliffe Golf Club - Dress Regulations

On the course

  • Approved golf attire, includes polo neck or equivalent approved attire. Men's shirts with collars - these must be tucked into trousers or shorts.
     
  • Trousers must not be tucked into socks.
     
  • Knee length tailored shorts may be worn with either knee length socks or predominantly white ankle length socks.
     
  • Only ladies may wear short or shoe socks.
     
  • Caps must be worn peak forward.
     
  • The following may not be worn on the course:-

T-shirts, jeans, combat trousers or shorts, shorts lower than the knee, calf-length trousers (except ladies), denim wear of any type, track or jogging suits, training shoes, soccer, rugby or other non-golfing sport shirts including those bearing non-golfing motifs. Ladies may not wear leggings, sun-tops, short skirts or brief shorts.

In the Bar

Smart, dry, non soiled approved golfing attire as above.(ladies may wear collarless shirts/tops) Tailored shirts (without tails) may be worn outside trousers. Knee length tailored shorts and socks as above. These may be worn in the clubhouse up to 9.30 pm (or otherwise as designated in the summer months).

At Meetings

Gentlemen shall wear conventional jacket and ties. Ladies may not wear golfing attire.

At Club Functions

The dress code shall be as “At Meetings” but certain functions will specify alternative dress code.

In the Dining Room

Smart casual wear is permissible before 7.00 pm and at any time by persons under 18 years of age. After 7.00 pm gentlemen shall wear conventional jackets and ties - BUT not collarless , zipper, leather or other casual jackets. Certain club functions may vary these regulations by notice on the specified poster. Shorts may not be worn at any time. Jackets may only be removed by permission of the Club Captain, President or House Manager.

Prize Presentations

All male recipients must wear conventional jacket and tie. Lady recipients must wear non golfing attire. Other wear is only acceptable when previously notified on the specific competition entrance start sheet.

The following are UNACCEPTABLE AT ALL TIMES

Excessive casual wear.
Jeans, combat trousers or combat shorts. Shorts lower than knee length, calf length trousers (gentlemen only).
Denim wear and any type, design or colour (this does not include denim coloured fashion clothing). Track or jogging clothing.
Training shoes.
Collarless shirts (except ladies wear).
The wearing of no socks by gentlemen.
Soccer, Rugby or other non golfing sports shirts including those bearing non golfing motifs.
T-shirts.
Non tailored shorts.
Printed logos or printed wear (except golfing logos on approved golfing attire).
Golfing headgear in the clubhouse.
Golf shoes in the clubhouse (except in summer - when a designated area is specified).

Members, Guests and Visitors are bound by these Regulations.
